Thank you, Dave. The way I see it, we'd have to make some HUGE mistakes to screw this up. You're right about going slow. Her mother was kinda trying to rush things and I told her we're taking it easy. She's got old IH tractors and a 1998 New Holland that she's in love with. She's got a 706D, and 856D, and a 666G that she'd like me to rebuild for her :D Her place has LOTS of old iron sitting around, including 2 old IH trucks, and I think you know how I am with old IH trucks : ) I told her I could spend a week just exploring her property by itself. She's joining the EQIP program and needs a good hand to build fence and bury water lines this summer... Alright, alright, I'm gonna quit before I get outta hand : )

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
