I had a prob with an oakland county dep here in mich just before christmas of 06 while driving a backhoe on the road. he was behined me and i had a bit more to go for a safe place to pull over, must not liked me not being scared of him. pulled me over and told me why i didnt have a smv told him didnt think i needed one cause of all the lights on ( beacon flashing head&tail stop turn and so on) said dosnt matter still have to have one, said sorry ill get one today. than he wanted to know what i was doing driveing on the road told him I was bowering it from a buddy and takeing it 3 miles down the road to a retired cops horse farm to load a dump truck with rap to spread on a driveway/road. This retired cop hapens to be my father inlaw and mostly liked and knowen in the area. he said never heard of him and that didnt matter you cant drive this thing down the road. Well i asked him since this machine wasnt alowed on the road why in hell do i need an smv? That PI**ED him off good. There was alot more said but I hate to peck on this thig to long. Finaly I told him i was 1/2 way between were i came from and going,What do you want me to do dep tunaround go back keep going or go to jail. he said to keep going but next time i was goin to get atlest a bunch of tickets.NOW A GOOD COP WOULD HAVE ASKED ME FOR SOME ID (HE DIDNT) TOOK THE SERIAL # OFF THE MACHINE ( HE DIDNT) write it down on his note pad and hang on to it for a week and see if some one reports a stolen machine HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHO OR WHAT I WAS! That tells me no one is looking out for your property. he was more mad that i didnt get out of his way as soon as i seen him and he was going to show me. the prob is i dont think he knows the law. anyone had probs like this? If anyone would like to know i will tell you about the trip home with the same machine in march of o7 WHAT A BLAST
