A friend of mine has a 1998 Ranger 4WD. When he bought his truck it had 20K miles on it. When he bought the truck it needed new tires, he bought Good Year Wranglers. He just replaced those tires 3 months ago with truck having 115,000 miles on it, the tires were still Okay but the tread was worn down (as you can guess) not enough tread to be safe. (I guess he rotates every 10K miles) I have bought Firestones, Goodyears, Continental generals, Toyos, and Kellys. most of these tires are for cars not trucks. I look at it this way--Either pay for lower quality and get 30k miles, like continentals or toyos or get a quality tire like Good year. Just my 2 cents. I hated having to buy tires every 30k miles. I just put new front tires on my new 2007 Cobalt car, only 17,500 miles and the Continentals in the fronts wont hold air more then a week, no nails in them, tread is worn more then it should be. So I bought 2 Good years last Saturday 195/60/R15--$220 for both tires. Of course a truck tire (Good Year will be $220 each.) Just my 2cts.
