Hey Old, didn't you go look at that website I sent you?? Here is some of the info.
Keith & Shawn -------------------------------------------------- Model Identification
Each truck is identified by a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is located under the hood on a 2"X 3" plate located on the cowl on the passenger side of the truck.
A typical VIN would look like this: 5 CK 04 4321
The first digit identifies the manufacturing plant, see chart below.
The two letters indicate the model. See "Models"
The two digits that follow the letters identify the month of manufacture. 01=Jan, 02=Feb, etc. Note, however, that there were some differences in the later "BK". The Late 46 models used letters to identify the month, A=Jan, B=Feb, etc.
ART DECO SERIES CHEV TRUCKS Built between October, 1941 and January, 1942 and January, 1944, until August 31, 1945. During WW II, production was controlled by the War Production Board. These trucks were only for sale to essential industries on the home front. Note the model designation remained the same as the 1942s, however, the month of production code on the VIN began with 25 for Jan, 26 for Feb. etc for 1944. 1945 truck month codes began with 37 for Jan, 38 for Feb. etc. All of these trucks featured painted trim.
