The 4630 is three or four major revisions forward from the 4000, 3 more HP (55 PTO) and a good deal heavier depending on the options. Given the choice I'd take the 4630 over any of them, then the 4610 and so on down. I have a 4000, love it and all... but time has caught up to it here. The 4630 will outperform it in many respects. The 10 and 30 should both be watched for hydraulic problems and steering issues with their pumps and watch the transmission on the 30 if it's got the shuttle. I don't think it's as durable as the old 8x2 that the thousand series had.... but the 30 series still had the 8x2 as a basic spec transmission. That would be fine. I'd still take an 8x8 over an 8x2 for the shuttle, but if there are any shifting issues or play in the levers, you can expect to spend some major money in there at some point. The 10 seires has a column mounted syncro shift transmission that I'm not fond of, but it seems fairly durable all the same. It's just got a horrid shift pattern in my opinion.
They're all good tractors, but there's just more things that COULD go wrong on the newer models. There's more systems... If any of these are/were loader tractors, LOOK AT EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY THE FRONT AXLE AND IT'S PIVOT. 4630 is still my pick though.
