You really can not tell how bad your rim really is until you have the tire off. I have repaired some kinda bad rusted rims. More to show someone that told me it was beyond repair. The plow wheel picture you can see the shinny where I welded in the patch. I was filling in for my second shift forman and repaired it in my tool shop and didn't have a camera to do a step by step. You can think that a rim is shot looking at the out side and with the tire off the inside looks clean and new over most of it. You can also take the tire off one and see the inside pitted almost thru to the outside. Start chipping off rust and find a sieve. The shinny spots at the bottom was holes that were welded up from the inside and then ground smooth inside and out.
