You are a very fortunate young man. You have a wife, two young sons, a home, a shop, and old tractor(s). My advice is to keep your priorities straight –wife, sons, home, shop, and then tractor(s).
Getting your two young sons involved with you is one of the best “gifts” they will ever receive and remember – the gift of your time. Once they get involved and start having fun, they will start telling their mom how much fun it is “working” with dad on the tractor. These will be the memories your two sons will also have when they are your age.
Get your wife involved by getting your sons to show her the work they have done on the tractor. Let her drive your tractor – the boys will love it and be the first to tell all the grandparents.
Buy her a tractor! Refurbish her tractor to whatever condition she wants. Both of you go on a weekly tractor tour around the house, around the shop, around the block, around the farm, around the town, etc. My advice is to share more time with her as you do with your tractor.
Continue to take your family to auctions and shows whenever you get the chance. Make a date to go “look” at a tractor that may be for sale locally. Start you a “one of these days we need to” list; then set aside one of your days to do one item on your list.
In the long run it is all about spending your time with your family and getting every one involved with each other.

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
