Depends on how far you are comfortable going.. I wouldn`t try it with the trans in the vehicle. You have to pull the side cover, pump, harness, valvebody, and then the channel plate. So you have the trans half disassembled.
With the right tools and equip, it`s half the job it is trying to fight it with the vehicle on the ground and the trans in the vehicle, and without being able to set the trans verticle, you run a big risk of the support or 2nd clutch drum dropping out of alignment.
If you have many miles on the car, it`s a great time to look at the drive chain and definately the 4th clutch hub, they`re starin ya right in the face anyway. The aftermarket makes a 4th hub with tempered splines that is way better than the OEM design. Then when you go back together there`s a couple of electrical components you have to replace, or your asking for trouble..
