Thanks for the input guys. They were bred to low borth weight bulls and none of the cows in their pedigree have a history of calving problems. I know that doesn't mean that these won't, but it's still a pretty good sign and I'm willing to take my chances based on the info I've got. They are all about 26 months old, so the age is about right. I do plan on the registering the offspring, if they all turn out as good calves. There is a real shortage of purebred anything where I'm located at and some money can be made, especially after most people had to sell last fall and this winter becuase of the drought. As far as the health problems go, Herefords have always seem to do fairly well around here. I've got a neighbor who has raised cattle his entire life(70+ years), most of them being Herefords and the biggest problem he's had has been them eating to many acorns from time to time. I've got a relatively small operation, about 100 acres, and I just got laid off, so I should be able to spend plenty of time with them the next few months. Again thanks for the all the input. Casey
