The first tractor I ever drove was a 1959 Massey Ferguson MF50 LPG Row Crop with a bulldozer blade on front. That was in 1973-74ish. I was 5 or 6 years old then. That tractor is completely restored and in the barn today. It is the last farm tractor my grandpa bought new. My two daughters are fourth generation of our family to spend time on that tractor. The first tractor I ever plowed with is a 1972 Massey Ferguson 1100 with Hinson Weather Cab pulling a 15 foot Richardson sweep plow. That was in 1975 at 7 years old. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
