...that co-incidentally also involves a vega! Many moons ago, I worked for a large retailer that had an autocenter (S#*r$, for what it's worth). To jump start customer's dead cars, we would us a warranty return battery that tested good and "hardwire" a set of jumper cables to it- hack the ends off and use those cheap bolt on clamps to permanently attach the cables to the battery post. This was before the now fashioable booster boxes. One day, we get a call from a customer dead on the other side of the mall- so "Joe College" throws the "booster battery" into the back of his hatchback Vega (amidst much McDonalds bags, etc) and runs off to be of service. 10 miutes later he's haulin' a$$ back across the parkinglot, rear of the Vega a huge fireball. Ends of the cables crossed, melted away the insulation and set the burger wrappers on fire- burnt that rascal to the ground. Could have killed him...but couldn't help but laugh at the sight of that beater blazing like a comet with him furiously hauling back to the shop!

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
