Sally, I think you missed the point and got you're panties in a knot for nothing. I answered a post where Burrhead said that if you like John Deere, you'll like Zetor. My reply was that I like John Deere, but don't like Zetor, to which there were many replies. I could have gone into the metallurgy like ltf did, but I already did that a few months ago concerning another matter. Then, if you had read down a ways, I agreed with GEO about a similar experience with a new Deere. In fact I said that the 1640 (1981) pulled better. I have said many times that my favourite Deeres were the Manheimm built, starting with the 510, 710, up to the 55 series in 1990. I personally wouldn't buy a new Deere, I spent a day using a New Holland TN90F, and thought is was a great machine. Since you're talking about rebuilding and whatnot, let me tell you why I like those Deeres so much, I've never seen them apart! If I want to, I've got an old Cletrac to restore, but I don't have time to fiddle with a working tractor. For the same reason , I also like Deutz air-cooled engines, and of course Caterpillar. At no time was I trying to make your brother or anyone else feel stupid about their purchase. So try and be civil, and I won't mention your big butt.

Usin Your Implements: Bucket Loader - by Curtis Von Fange. Introduction: Dad was raised during the depression years of the thirties. As a kid he worked part time on a farm in Kansas doing many of the manual chores. Some of the more successful farmers of that day had a new time saving device called a tractor. It increased the farm productivity and, in general, made life easier because more work could be done with this 'mechanical beast'. My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
