Farmer, I must admit that I haven't seen the thread that you are refering to, but I have not seen much condemnation of fellow poster/mechanics on this forum. Aside from the traditional rivalries, most people here at the tractor board have generally been respectfull of the other views and systems presented, here. I have reviewed some of the responses that I have posted, and I realize that some, such as welding cracked engine blocks, assume that everyone is profficiant at everything. I have not been chastised for this, and I try to remember that I am not always responding to a mechanic. Whenever we have a broad range of individuals, we have a broad range of experience that will result in suggestions that some will not be comfortable with. I once worked with an indian chief who replaced oil pumps by cutting an access hole in the crankcase, and welding it shut, when complete. I would very assertively recommend that no one who reads this, ever for any reason do that. Joe, notwithstanding this was an otherwise good mechanic, with superb troubleshooting skills. As I said, since this board doesn't generally address issues, such as religion or politics, I don't often observe hostile and combative posts.
