I have my case 311 B 58. My new dash should be in when I get back home. Now the old sending unit on tractor was just a small round pipe like that screwed in motor and on dash. But the new dash will have an electric reading unit. So I must replace the sending unit on motor to an 12 volt one. So does any unit fit in the motor? Is it special one for a case tractor only? Are does anyone that fits the hole in engine work? Any thing I might need to know more on doing this? Thanks
Answers to this are: 1. You will need a sending unit with the same size pipe threads that are in your engine block. Hal 2. El Toro is correct, the sending unit should be designed for the new gauge. The voltage change curve will be important for accuracy. Adapters can be used to place it in the hole. A supply voltage will also be needed for the gauge. (and sometimes a instrument voltage regulator. JimN
What is a voltage change curve ? Where do I get one and how is it applied

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
