Thanks again for the input on the earlier post regarding the 1957 TO35 SGF. I took a look at it today. Seems to be a nice little tractor. Started easy but wanted to die occasionally till it warmed up. Helped to run with the choke partially on. No leaks at temperature and the engine oil and rear end oil levels were right and it looked right. 3pt went up and down the way I expected and the PTO ran quiet and as expected. I wasn't able to put a load on the PTO so I have to assume it doesn't slip. Front and rear tires are brand new and the paint is nicer than I expected.
I'm not a mechanic. Owner says the motor was rebuilt with a Ferguson "kit" by the previous owner. Tractor has run around 20 hours since this rebuild. It seemed to make a little more noise than I expected. Would lifters need any break in time or could they make noise because of the cold temperature (it's pretty damn cold in WI today)? I've got some video with sound I'm going to try and attach.
I'll try to attach some pictures... attaching the video is not going well. I'll keep trying, if you can give them a listen tell me what you think.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
