last week i was running my 7020 in soft field dirt, with a 16 ft offset disc, some reason or another the top shift fork came unriveted and fell into a gear it was able to be removed, but along the way,i had to pop the gear shift lever from 1-8 in gear while pulling the tractor in reverse, after that i got the tractor in 5th gear and drove it to the barn, still ran good too,now that the fork is back in place, the tractor acts like its stuck in reverse, and when i run thru the right hand shifter,1 range, and 2 range,or low and hi and reverse,no matter which area i put the transmission in by hand,it still acts like its either stuck in reverse,or stuck in possible a forward gear and reverse, but most of all when it is in a neutral area,,it spins freely when the clutch is let out,,,is there anyone out there that has an idea of whats going on in this tranny,,its basically like a 4020,but the lever next to the gears is the 1,2,and r,,,is something else that has to be lined up 1st before its going to shift right?my cables are still working ok and not stretched, tractor runs great, clutch reACTS FINE WHEN ACTIVATED.guys thanks for any help you can be

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
