i just got a deutz 6006 from a farmer that i did some carpentry work for. the fellow said that he just put in a new clutch about a year before he parked it because he couldnt get the clutch to release. i got the clutch manual and found out you need a special service tool to install the clutch properly. i know for a fact that the farmer didnt use such a tool when he replaced it.
my question is: is my clutch shot, or is there a way to adjust it in place, without spliting the tractor apart?
the manual said that if the clutch wasnt adusted properly when assembled that it would appear to work properly, but the service life of the clutch would be greatly reduced.
is a locked up clutch a sign of a worn out clutch? if so, does any one need an engine or something. ha-ha.
thanks for any feed back.
the clutch in this tractor is a walterscheid 295/250 ind. and S.D. (you push the clutch in a little and it stops the transmission and a little farther it stops the pto)
