The ONLY automotive batteries I use are Duralast from Auto-Zone. In L/G batteries I only use their 425 cranking amp unit. From my axperiance cranking single cylinder B&S engine this battery has average a four year life span. They cost about $30 or about 8 bucks a year. I also have two of them in a military generator the Fire Department has. Be cause of fuel cost I had NOT been exercizing the generator for two years . ME BAD A year ago this last january we had a bad ice storm. Power was of fo about a week. We had somewhat of a warning of ice the preciding Dec. so I decide I had best get the generator running. This generator has some panel lights. I turned them on. They barely glowed. I took the batteries to my small six amp charger. The amp meter barely moved. I left both batteries on this charger for 24 hour. I reinstalled the batteries and started the generator which is a 10 KW unit powered by flat four military standard engine. These batteries started this generator through the entire ice storm. It was used to power a local gas station to pump gas, diesel and LP during the power outage. Now a year later I exersize this generator every six weeks and these abused batteries are still starting it. These batteries are are DURALAST brand from Auto-Zone.
One Last thing that will make ANY lead-acid battery last longer is the use of distilled water to refill the cells. I did not do this at one time even though I knew better because you could not find distilled water. There is NO excuses now as you can buy it for about a dollar a gallon at WallyWorld.

No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
