I have seen that "the tax on oil is more than the oil company makes"for the last time.Oil companies dont pay 100 dollars a barrel for oil. They will sell you some oil for 100 dollars a barrel if you want to buy it,but they dont buy it.It costs them to get it out of the ground and refine it,but its not like the guys who were trying to figure it up the other day.None of the prices you put in your formula are true if you go by their lies. The Government charges tax,not sure the amount of that and states charge tax.I live in Missouri so the state of Missouri gets 17 cents per gallon, lots of states get more than that but its around 25 cents a gallon average for the state tax. Also A barrel of oil is really only 50 dollars if you paid for it in British Pounds and maybe 65 in Euros. So how do you know what numbers to put in your equasion? If all of the tax on a gallon of gas was 50 cents, and I dont think its even that high that means the oil company has made 2.50 per gallon at 3.00 gallon gas.I dont know what part of that is profit, but if they made a profit when it was .90 cents a gallon and taxes were nearly the same, they are making 2 dollars more per gallon, really only one dollar because of the dollar being devalued. No rocket science to see that!
