I finished building my Pitts Special bi-plane in 1986. My son and I got it out of the hanger on Fathers day, at the airport pancake breakfast. The engine didn't have a starter (to save weight). My son was 20 at the time propped me for about :45 minutes before he couldn't raise his arms above his head. That's when I noticed that I didn't turn the gas on fully! I told him to take a rest and sit in the plane and I would prop it....started on the second pull! Someday, I'm gonna tell him that story!!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
