We have conducted a tractor raffle at our club for many years. There are several keys to having a successful raffle.
Most important, get a popular model. While collectors would like to have an Allis Chalmers G, A nice utility tractor like an IH 240, Oliver Super 55, Case 430 or an Allis D15 will make you the most money.
Buy a restored tractor if you can find one. If you can't find a restored tractor to buy get some one, or a group of someones, to do a top job of restoring it.
Take the tractor to as many venues as you can to sell tickets. Tractor shows, community auctions, fairs and festivals.
Finally, remeber that the better and more desireable model that you raffle the more you will make. To date our best results have come with an Oliver Super 55 and a John Deere 2010. We netted about $10,000 on each one. We made money on all of the rest, but usually in the $2000 to $5000 area.
