I am new here. I am now the owner of a Original 1949 IH C "white" in color tractor. This tractor was my fathers. He bought it new in 1950. It runs and works well....but it is showing her age. Although she has always been kept under roof she has some aged issues that I wish to resolve.
As best I know these "White" Farmalls were a rare tractor. The White color was used on demostartors which were often painted red prior to sale? Mine is original and still white. I know little of the details of my tratcor but I have done alot of work on it over the years to help my father keep it running.
If I understand correctly the serial number is located on the tool box under the seat on the righthand side. My plate is worn abit but I can make out the numbers. The first numbers appear to be engraved in a nice looking font. 52055 and under it is what appears to be "stamped" numbers 1815. I am in need of alot of advice and general knowledge of servicing and repairing my tractor to keep it in "original running condition " as best I can. I am not interested at this point to do a restore of the tractor. My father was against the retstore of this tractor given its status and its orginal condition. I need knowledge and manuals, and parts to service my tractor. I need to replace the clutch and mostlikely the brakes. The wiring is failing, as it is original aswell.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
