The "eastern half" of the US covers a lot of territory. Do you have anything more specific in mind? Most states have a least one major museum with farm equipment.
The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC is the grandaddy of American museums. You could spend several days and not see it all. Most of the farm equipment is in the Smithsonian's Museum of American History.
If you're going to be in the midwest, the Henry Ford Museum / Greenfield Village is a terrific museum with a lot of farm equipment.
