As I see it biggest problem is a lack of individual fortitude, and integrity. I was brought up to follow all rules, Dads,Gods and Mans,in that order.Many fall short and accept no responsibilty.Kind of like the "Honor System" that applies to this website.To my understanding set up to discuss those topics related to "Antique tractors and the like"..I have "skipped" over numerous posts from "spit" to the "space program". Those topics are justified by honorable people, who state if you dont like O/T's Dont read them.If we take this as a general rule, we can apply this same reasoning to all sorts of inconsiderate behavior. If you see kids riding four wheelers through your neighbors fields, dont look and it wont offend you. Seems rational enough,if we all ignore people doing as they will, when they will, it wont affect me.If I have a tractor in a show with the signage PLEASE DONT TOUCH, just look away as the little boys ice cream covered hand modifies my paint, and no harm will come to me.It is simply a lack of personal integrity, most folks want what they want, and will take it when they want it. Even the "old schoolers" who know better, and were raised in the great generation have been schooled by now, and do as they wish when they wish, in "GENERAL TERMS".Every where you go in todays world you will be put upon by those who feel they are not held to the same rules,indifferent to any adversity it might have on a fellow man.They're lives so filled with self absorbed propaganda, expectations of how the rest of the world should make way for them and theyre own set of amended rules.Such as the SUV driving, cell phone talking, soccer parent, whos self indulgent lifestyle is justified in that it sacrifices all, to deliver these soon to be miscreants of society to way to numerous of events. All to avoid a dull moment entering the feeble little minds of its young.To do this it will cut you off in traffic,fail to use turn signals,take your parking space as it cannot wait, speed through school zones etc.WE have allowed it to flourish in our society by picking and choosing rules to follow.There is always going to be a price to be paid for an over indulgent society, a lack of courtesy,empathy,civility, and that general milk of human kindness.Thank God the illness has not devistated the rural Midwest, by my humbled estimation.Off Topic maybe, but who decides whose rules "I" should follow in the anenimity of "this great creator of overindulgent behavior"...Dad, God or Man?
