A good reminder I don't yet have a extingisher in my 1370. Have one in the pickup (DOT law), on the Ford 5000, and a couple in the house with one being right next to our bed. I have had WAY too much fire in my life. I was a volunteer firefighter on a couple different departments, so have been thru training. Won't change the fact anyone can have a fire thru no fault of their own. I have had a barn burn down in the middle of the night when I lived in Kansas for a short while, took my 66 Chevy PU with it. Next fire was in a rental mobile home, the heat tape. It was a Saturday morning I was off work, or it would have been gone. The next fire was when I was back in Nebraska, Ford 861 Powermaster, knocking down WAY too tall weeds with the bushhog. She was running hot from weed seed plugged radiator, backfired, instant fire from the fuel cap. Was able to get hood open, so only sheet metal and wiring damage. She did the same thing again 6 months later, found out the shutoff valve had a small drip. Next fire was where I live now, had a lightning strike. We were on the way home from getting dog and horse food, we both said DAMN it looks like it that was close to our trailer in the country where we live now. When we got home the smoke alarms were going off, the lightning strike had fried the well, the pressure tank, and all the related wiring. The pressure tank is in our bedroom closet, only the wiring and some clothing were on fire when I opened the closet door. As mentioned before, there is an extinghisher in our bedroom, so made short work of that. The last, and worst fire was on Valentines day evening this year when it would appear that meth heads took advantage of the fact that both farm houses back in Nebraska have power to them, but we have had propane shut off to both for several years. Both LPG tanks have over 50 percent left, would seem they found their way past the padlocks and were cooking when something blew. When the fire dept arrived, a couple pickups were just leaving in a hurry, the kitchen walls were blown out, and the cook stove was blowing flame "sky high". I have had MORE than enough fire for my life. DOUG
