Ya,we've got so darned many critters around here it ain't funny. Neighbor kid trapped a badger right along my fence 2 years ago. My cousin shot one in his yard that was acting funny. There are plenty of bears around. Was a picture in the paper 2 or 3 years ago of one in the yard right next door.My son saw a cub a week before that. A guy south of town had one in his birdfeeder several times. We had one near the cabin up by Grayling for several years. He'd come up and eat things that we put out on a stump. We've got movies of him. There was a confirmed sighting of a cougar near Jackson a year or two ago. One attacked a horse. There's been video of one in a city park on the news in SW Mi. They used to tell of a black pantherlike cat around here when I was a kid. My uncle swore up and down that he saw it in his barn a couple of times. Said he'd open the door and it would be up in the hay. Those bobcats have been common for a long time. You could always hear them back in the swamps around Cedar Lake.
