I grew up in the area, in the farm equipment business. Gary's collection has been legendary since I was a kid, although only his employees and family ever got any sort of good look at it. He had the true antiques separated from the salvage business all along, to the point that he had buildings on each of his farms full of the stuff. Not just tractors either, he had dealership signs and logos, belt buckles, memorabilia, guns and toys.
He actually started Bridgeport Tractor in 1982, to sell "whole" machinery, but the lines between the two companies were always blurry.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
