Well, a little bit of everything gets run in our family...
I run Mobil 1 5w-20 in the Honda Accord 2.3 four banger, 5 or 6k between changes. Mobil 1 10w-30 in the Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8 v-6, 5k between changes. Mobil 5000 in my 51 IH L-120, changed every two years or so. Mobil Delvac 1 5w-40 in my Farmall H, change once a year. All of the other tractors at the farm get CaseIH 15w-40 diesel oil, changed at 75 to 100 hours.
Dad runs Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w-20 in the 05 F-150 and 5w-30 in the 98 F-150. He usually runs them 3 to 4k miles.
Mom's Buick gets whatever the oil change place in town puts in it. She gets it changed with the oil life monitor falls below 10%, which usually equates to at least 5k.
Brother puts Shell Rotella 15w-40 in the 98 and 06 Dodge Cummins.
All of the small engines on augers, tillers, etc. get Mobil 5000 10w-30 in them. The newest riding lawnmower gets Mobil1 10w-30.
I've had many different vehicles over the years, and until I started spending more than a couple thousand on the purchase price I just put in whatever was the cheapest off the shelf at Wally World, along with the Fram filters. NEVER had a problem, never had a filter go bad, never lost oil pressure, never blew up an engine (and I ran stuff pretty hard). My 95 Thunderbird with 4.6 OHC v-8 would blow some smoke after idling a bit, but that was due to a poor design on the valve seals, not the cheapo oil.
As a matter of fact, I can't say that any vehicle or tractor or engine that anyone in my family has ever owned suffered from an oil related failure, EVER.
Now that I have invested a considerable amount of $$ in newer vehicles, and the fact that I live in a climate where temps average 120 degrees in the summer, along with steep mountain grades - I feel the extra protection of full synthetic is worth it to me. With the extended drain intervals I'm not spending that much more.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
