You said it! While I personally only use synthteics in rear ends and transmissions, I cant justify the use of it in an engine, even with the extended drains. My wifes Buick has 202000 give or take on the odomenter, and have yet to put a synthetic in the engine.While alot of the technology looks impressive to me, I wont be foolish enough to fall for the Amsoil hype, when there are oils thats are just as good or better and have an ASE rating.IU knida agree with Steven, I cant think of one oil related failure, or even a problem with straight dino oils in any of my engines, and not one has had a synthetic in it. My new truck, well Im not sure what Im going to do yet, but will probably use staright plain jane dino in it!
