I've got a similar one, called a RED COMET, I'd have to carefully dig it out, it's clear glass, red liquid inside, does make for a neat ornament, an artifact I found in our old victorian farmhouse. I'm not sure how common they are, it was in a box with shredded news paper, when I found it, I safely re-packed it years ago and put it in a drawer in my garage for future reference, it's got some similar hardware like you describe, on the one end, I'd have to dig it out and take a photo, I hate handling it, reminds me of a grenade, as there is spring loaded device on it and I have no clue what chemical is inside, that is a nasy chemical CT isn't it ? Same thing used in dry cleaning, no idea, not a chemist, but it sounds like just like the chemical the armenian dry cleaner down the road hates hearing brought up, we used to really get him going sometimes LOL !
NC Wayne is right on with that reminder, I had to torch off a few parts in a junkyard last fall and there was a giant oaktree with limbs over the truck, those leaves are hard, dry and take a lot to soak, I had to clear the entire area and still had some on fire I did not see, nice enough to let me take my own parts off, used my cutting rig and I could have started a nasty fire if I was not careful.
Belly pans with oil soaked dirt, break a hyd hose on a hot engine and all the rest that happens similar, excellent reminder, may save the day just having an extinguisher that works, I have to remind my customers to do it, one has a 100 x 100 shop, and I put new ones in there over 1 year ago, really is a good reminder, best remind this customer to get em serviced.
