Try using a product called PrepAll. I got mine in a gallon can from CarQuest. NAPA or other automotive supply store should have it. If I remember correctly, the can has a mostly blue label. Put some in an aerosol spray can for easier application. You probably will not get the stainless behind the signs to look like the rest of the tank as the other bigger area has been exposed to the sun and the elements for too long of time. Good Luck!
