Rick/NC: I went through a Bolens -Iseki 194 about two years ago and ordered and got every part I needed from Troy - Built (the rototiller people) My tractor was built in 1981, but I was able to get all the decals, a new grille and some other sheet metal parts. I also bought a bunch of bearings and seals to re do the front drive system. But I didn't need any gears. Sorry to hear about your experience with the gear. You are right on about the parts prices being higher than heck. It pays to look around. Troy built wanted 190+ for a little starter drive that I picked up at a starter shop for 60. Over all I thought the Iseki was a pretty good tractor, having some things that were better than my Ford 1500. I've got one of those crumby Kubota Grand L 2900 s now and with about 700 hours on it I'm beginning to have the stupid thoughts that it's about the best tractor I've ever had.
