The Z series Continental engines that powereed the TO-20 and the TO-30 were prone to cracking if overheated. Makesure that there isn"t any water in the crankcase oil. T
The hydraulic sumps collect a lot of water from condesation with non-use (as do all the tractors of this era). Look for milky hydraulic fluid and make sure the the hitch can pick AND hold at least 300-400 pounds with the engine off. If it leaks down in 15 minutes or more that"s acceptable. When the oil is warm, the hitch should operate smoothly up and down.
Otherwise, it"s the same as any machine. Check the rad for signs of oil in the water, check the clutch, transmission, etc etc.
