Their biggest mistake was using a 9mm. There's no way you're going to take out a mountain lion with one shot from a 9mm.
That's why the good old .45 automatic is still the handgun of choice in Iraq. Feedback I get from Marines over there is if you shoot someone with a standard issue 9mm, all you do is pi$$ him off. Shoot him with a .45 and he's down.
