I pulled my single row Wood Brothers picker this fall w/VAC Case, about 18 HP, I think. Worked OK, but made the old girl work in 100bpa corn in soft ground when the flare box got full. (We figured there was about 85 bu in the wagon, by measure.) I sure wished that old VAC would have had a creaper low, as it was tough to go slow enough while keeping the picker running fast enough as it was designed for probably 50bpa (max) corn when what we were picking was running twice that. I used my SC w/live PTO the year before, it worked better because you could clutch it when the corn started to pile up in the picker, but we wanted to use the VAC last fall to "blow the soot" out of it. BTW, it runs a whole lot better after we work it hard for a couple of days. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
