When I read this, I thought the man did not want to spend money, and just take items he is probably paid by Yuppies to haul away and make what you call a Doodle Bug out of them. It can have Hydraulics, and it can have PTO if you want. But it will be his own imagination. No it probably won't meet the current OSHA guidlines, and won't be listed in the Equipment Hotline either. But it can be green or orange! My point when I wrote in was to indicate how the little engines power with the auto trans could be multiplied with the gears of the truck manual. You could put the truck in any gear and shift the auto up and down like a Multi- Power or something to change speed or load on the fly. The opposite is also true. When I was a kid I worked with some guys who had a big V-8 Chrysler in a home made vehicle that was high gear only. No transmission at all. No reverse or neutral, just a clutch to disengage the rear wheels. But instead of pulling good, it flew very fast! Sometimes straight up in the air. No work, just fun. That's a lot of the reason to build one. Fun without a lot of money. Just be safe. Tom S.
