I may be asking this at the wrong place, but I see a lot of people asking truck questions, and getting decent answers. Just pretend I am hauling vintage tractors. I have a chance to buy a mid 70's R model Mack single axel tractor that was taken out of service due primarily to age. I can buy it for $650. No rust on cab, no welds on frame or 5'th wheel. Just plain worn out. I keep telling everybody here we should buy this and spend money to overhaul, repl tires, reline brakes etc, as we can afford it, instead of borrowing for a newer powerstroke or dually, that will only pull a gooseneck anyway, and pay notes on demand every month. I can show the price of liscense and liability insurance are practically the same, only difference is the driver will have to have a CDL. Am I wrong, or would this not be a cheap way to haul machinery? I have never owned a 5'th wheel semi tractor before, and only pulled goose necks and tags. What am I not thinking about? I know where I can trade my good tandem goose neck for a low boy and probably get boot .All these truck questions here are mega-buck, I have to move cheap. Thanx. Tom S.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
