Jon, Your friends 806 was a International 806. Hand clutches were optional on the International 706 and the International 806. In our area the hand clutch was preferred for most standard or wheel type tractors. Most IHC tractors in our area were Farmalls but most of the wheel tractors; W-9 thru I-806 were equipped with hand clutches. Not only on rice tractors but on any wheel tractors, the hand clutches were generally liked for any type heavy open field work. It gave the operator the option of sitting or standing in rough conditions for one thing. The foot deaccelerator allowed the operator to slow down for turning or crossing rough spots or crossing levees in rice fields. Harold H
