As I told Lanse, I wonder about the readings. You can get good readings with calipers if you know how. I have ask him to put ink marker marks across the journals and take four readings which he did. I have now ask him to take 8 readings by measuring on the same lines only two times half way between the center and the outside. This will give me and idea if he is getting fairly close readings. The readings on the mains give me pause but with calipers if you are cocked you get larger readings rather than smaller reaings. I should have his head done next week. When I am able to get it down to him I will take mics and other tools with me.
Lanse, don't get in a hurry and buy a crankshaft on ebay or some place like that. You need to find one that can be measured before you buy. The statement on most cranks on ebay say (looks good) I have a half dozen out here that looks good but I would not have the guts to put them on ebay. Let me know as I ask what bearings you bought. I am sure you can make a trade. Standard bearings are not in big demand for these engines. but .010, .020, .030's under are.
