The largest oil reserves that are currently being tapped are the athabasca oil sands in Northern Alberta. It's considered synthetic crude and isn't usually included when they talk about conventional oil reserves. Now they say Saskatchewan has an even bigger reserve of oil sands. Saudi Arabia has the highest conventional reserves but it's not even remotely close to the trillions of barrels we have in the oil sands. 1 out of every 8 litres of gas in Canada comes from just one supplier, Syncrude Canada, and there are several other oil sands operations, all big!
