Surely we can all see the need for alternative fuels. Like it or not there is only X number of gallons or barrels (however you like to measure it) of oil to be had. Demand increases everyday, production and the oil reserves do not.
I dont agree with using a major food source to derive fuel. I may not be intelligent enough to even talk about this subject and I'll be the first to admit that I dont understand all I know about it. But Brazil does it with sugar cane I believe, and I've heard about this switchgrass thats supposed to give alot more yield than sugarcane and cane is way above corn.
I dont know about the climate needed to grow switchgrass but sugarcane is regional so thats most likely out.
Certainly you've got to have something that gives you back more than it takes to make it, I'm not going to debate the facts/figures because I dont have any, but we have to find an answer folks and embrace it and move forward with it.
