Your best bet for information is to go to the John Deere forum on this site or go to johnnypopper dot com and see if you could raise Duane Larson. Ifanyone would know about your mag and the exterior spark, he would. The exterior spark should not be present, and is causing the plugs to fire when the valves are open. I don't think I would run the tractor any more until you get the situation under control. Would hate to do any damage to the engine. If nothing else, burn the valves. How to correct the problem is another story. Get 'hold of Duane and see what his thoughts are.
