Back in 1970 while still in high school i helped a neighbor put up hay and straw with one. Beat the heck out of picking up the bale and throwing it on a flatbed truck. You take the first bale and turn it cross ways of the chains which are recessed in the deck. Add one on each side and build your stack on those. When you get it as high as you want you repeat the process with next row. works best with 2 people stacking and one driving. When you get to the barn you just raise the pickup and reverse the chain. Only thing better would be a new holland stack wagon or hiring it done.
