I had the same problem with my 250. Ran great and did the same thing you describe. Easy stuff first, make sure you have fuel in the tanks, listen for the pump to cycle when you turn on the key. If that's a go, check for spark at the plug and remove the dist cap to make sure the rotor is turning (if you're cap, rotor, and wires are crudy and flakey it may be time to replace them). If no spark, about 90% of the time it'll either be the coil or module in the distributor. Because of the labor prices here in Germany and the fact that these trucks aren't common (lot of headscratching and guessing) I ordered a complete dist and a coil from Rock Auto (cheapest place I found that would ship to me) and replaced both. My problem was the module in the dist. You can get just the module and replace it, but the few extra bucks for a complete one is worth it. I've fixed many a problem and received plenty of help from this forum:

Good luck and don't let it give you a nervous breakdown. Sure wish they would have todays efficiency with pre '70's simplicity.

But no matter how good or bad auctions may be, we always seem to stay until the item we've come for or are interested in is on the block. I've been to some auctions near and far. I think the furthest has been the Two Cylinder 7 in the Amana Colonies last year. Lots of stuff, lots of people. I've also atten
