How much HP should it take to pull an 18" 3 bottom plow. I bought a 2-way oliver at an auction and put it on my CIH 585. It had to really hustle to pull it in 2nd gear. So i moved up to my dad's Farmall 706. It pulled it better, but wouldnt pull it in 3rd gear. For comparison, the 706 pulls a 4 bottom 14inch plow in 3 or 4 gear, depending on soil and depth. Also, any advice on using a 2 way plow?
