Sounds like you are getting pretty good advice but a quick way to tell if it's fuel related is to get it running and spray a little WD-40 in carb. to see if it still runs. (Guys will get on me if I tell you to use ether). It'll work but go light on the squirt.

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
