Just what I wanted to hear. When James and I married, there were no fire ants in e. Tx. My FIL thought I was nuts until they invaded and he found out first hand what a pain, literally, they are. The only good thing about the fire ants spreading to e. Tx is they decimated the tick and scorpion population. I think they also had a big hand in the loss of the quail population. While I"m glad there"s something that will take out the fire ants naturally, I"m not thrilled about a new species of ant that is pesticide resistant.
And yes, for some reason the fire ants love electrical stuff. They will get into your a/c unit and fry the contacts and and cause all kinds of problems. They fry themselves, too, but not before they damage your a/c unit.
