If I would have taken up farming, like I wanted to, I would currently be using 40's and 50's equipment to do it on a smaller scale (320 acres or so). I would also invite anyone who wanted to work their old equipment to come on over and go for it - set up a gate and charge $1 for admission for anyone who wanted to watch...
Someday I hope to retire, move back to ND, and farm with my old stuff...

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
