Any cracks in plastic bodywork? hows knobs on tires? 2wheel or four wheel drive?[You only need two for yard work] Who serviced it? Any service records.Was oil changed regularly[open for lie]?Does it come with service manual? did you buy it new,what dealer?Stored inside or outside? any rust on frame?When was last new battery?Pull starter working?Look for rust in cables[means it was left outside.Look for trailer hitch or marks thereof.If its shaft drive trailer hitch might mean rear end stress.Adult owned ?Even though you dont care about cosmetics these things can get really beat by young guys so for 3500 or so you might want to go new.Brakes are easy if youve ever done a brake job on a car youll handle it.Good luck.
