Top of the line mower in their day but suited for a golf course or sod farm. Most all golf courses went to lighter weight 5 gang mowers and now will cross cut fairways. In the past they were always just cut up and down. That one looks in primo shape though. 2 speed gear box on the front hydraulic pump if I remember right so reel speed can be varied for conditions. The hydraulic reels will cut wetter grass better than ground drive units but any reel mower will only cut grass as high as half the diameter of the reel. Hit a little rock or something and the reel can be ruined. The later Jacobsen F10/F20 and HF 15's sold in Canada didn't have the box behind the operators seat because the stupid Gov't. in their infinite wisdom considered them a truck and therefore the duty and everything else was rediculously high. They couldn't understand that they were a highly specialized machine. Canadian machines had a big useless triangle deal where the box is. Many golf courses had 2 HF 15's and they weren't cheap when they were new. Dave
